About Us: Background and Physicians

The Rudd Clinic was founded in Toronto in 1969 by Dr. Wm Warren Rudd, M.D., FRCS(C), FACS. Dr. Rudd is a Fellow of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.

Several new techniques have been developed at the Rudd Clinic, and a number of procedures modified to create more efficient, less painful and usually more effective treatment of anorectal problems.

Since its inception, the Rudd Clinic has saved millions of dollars in costs to patients, employers and insurers by using innovative in-clinic techniques, and has saved even more by cancer prevention through in-clinic colonoscopy and removal of polyps during the examination.

The Rudd Clinic and Provis Endoscopy Clinics (PES) are private out-patient clinics with a staff of approximately 30 colorectal surgeons and gastroenterologists. We are the largest facility of its kind in Canada, performing over 18,000 colonoscopies per year. The services provided at our clinics are covered by Provincial health insurance plans.
